Some 300 years old, the Crown was originally built to provide refreshment and shelter for the cattle drovers passing through on their way to market and we continue to welcome locals and visitors from far and wide.
The Crown is a great place to come and relax for a good local pint, traditional homemade food or as a base for a short break in one of the UK's most picturesque locations. Enjoy a summer’s afternoon on the terrace overlooking the river, or a winter’s evening in front of our roaring log fires in our cosy bar or larger lounge. We also have a pool table in the rear of the pub.
Wi-Fi is available.
Food & Drink
We are a ‘Cask Marque Accredited’ real ale pub, also serving continental lagers, award winning Suffolk ciders and fine wines.
We specialise in no-nonsense traditional food prepared freshly in-house from locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
We offer a seasonal menu with regular specials for lunch (weekends only) and dinner. Breakfast is available for campers if pre-booked the night before.
As a totally ‘Free House’ we have the choice to source the finest real ales from anywhere, but we specialise in real cask ales from local Welsh breweries, supplemented occasionally with special guest beers.
We have three real ale pumps. Our signature bitter is Jewel in the Crown supplied exclusively to the Inn by Master Brewer David Facer of Facers Brewery, Flintshire. Other regularly rotated local ales include Flintshire Bitter, Splendid Ale and Abbey Red.
Families & Dogs
The Crown is a family and dog friendly pub - after all we are a family of big kids and have two gorgeous flat coated retrievers ourselves!
We cater for families both within the pub and in the beer garden. Children must be supervised at all times particularly along the pasture land, riverbank and woodlands.
Dogs are welcome both inside and outside but they must be on a leash at all times. We appreciate that all good dog owners ensure that their dogs are under control and that any fouling is removed.
